we all know how kpop started to rise here in ph. to briefly state its history, we can say it started with some people(who IMO, are fans of the HeroSan tandem from way back when, and yes jellah, isa k jan...) discovered that Sandara Park became a member of a hiphop girl group in Korea called 2ne1...then came WG's Nobody which became a big hit, and SuJu's Sorry Sorry...a lot of firsts happened and 4minute brought the first well-promoted kpop promo tour, Suju became the first kpop group to have a gold record in ph, filipino kpop FCs had more members than ever and Steven gave birth to the GCBoards kpop thread(LOL...hi people!, sana mabasa niu 2)...
something before i start...i actually wanted to write this about a few months ago but i didn't because of 20% priorities and 80% pure laziness...that was when i first saw Tell me Your Wish on myx...i decided to really write it now when one of my wishes failed to come true, i wished that T-ara would never be introduced to the madlang people and if ever they come to Ph, only true blue kpop fans would know...then i heard BoPeepBoPeep on the radio and on myx...now im problematic since BoPeep may bring about a new Nobody due to the simple, but catchy, lyrics and dance moves which resemble Nobody a lot in catchiness and overall appeal to non-fans IMO(or i may just be TOO paranoid, but this paranoia has a reason)...
so why do i think that Kpop is being ass-raped here in the Philippines? first of all, the advent of what i openly call RIP-OFFS...by rip-offs, i mean too much copying that it turns out badly...before i start, i would like to say that some of the members of these groups are actually talented and good-looking and im not an anti of these groups, i just think what they are doing does not do justice to kpop itself...despite that, i applaud them for not following the revival trend of opm artists nowadays (kiss, kick and kiss FTW!)...singing a song with a filipino verse and english chorus is ugly if you make it sound too much like kpop...changing the last notes of Sorry's intro is ugly if you make it sound too much like kpop...having golden hair like G-Dragon and sampling a song from BB's japanese album is ugly, though im a fan of the man who did that...those artists could have used their talents to write a more original song and brought back the glory OPM had, but instead they went with the flow and chose to rip kpop off...poor things...(i wont post vids of these so-called rip-offs, just search the term ppop in youtube..i might burn if i see their faces)
next are things like this...
i never really watched that video but the comments say what it contains...according to people who commented, it contains pure CRAP...according to someone from the GC Kpop thread, if he were to make a ten commandments, dancing like that would be a sin...
to compare watch this...
it looks kinda crappy right? but look at the comments...san mas natuwa ang kpop fans? s lola ko db?(that sounds funny) and ELFs even enjoyed it...why? because parodies are the best form of flattery, not total imitation which leads to a fail...
so why is it that kpop is being assraped?
if you haven't been watching tv for the past years, then you might not know that the trend in media these days is going with the flow...what's famous in other countries should have a philippine version...this mentality of media giants led to the destruction of originality in philippine tv...and it got worse when kpop rose to fame...when these media giants will stop thinking like this is a mystery, thus, this lack of originality will last indefinitely...
why do you think they are doing this? i cant say that it's all for the money, though it mostly is...i think it's just like those Fail threads you see in online forums...that first video i linked, that can be branded as an EPIC FAIL to netizens...and what do they do to kill these fail threads? they close them down, stop the thread starter and those who may enter it from commenting, letting the fail die on its own...
that's what these media giants should do, stop it...i dont know if they do not know that videos are meant to be commented on on youtube or they really are dumb, but they cant see that what they are doing is pissing off a whole community...i have never heard of any SONE who was delighted at that first video and all other imitations that they did...
so, until the giants realize their fails, kpoppers like me will have to medicate ourselves with watching the real deals on our media players, the eyedrop that soothes our sore eyes from all the bullshit they are doing...and knowing media giants, this battle with crap will last long...
but there is a bigger enemy people, and it sounds like an animal (clue: a beaver)...

i know a giant who understands the hearts of people...they promoted kpop and even pinoy artists evenly...they even collaborated with FCs to bring to the kpop community what we thought were dreams...they hear us out...
